Kathy's Web Page

Hi! I'm Kathy Lewis. This is my web page. I will tell you a little bit about myself. And I mean, a little bit, because I am still getting familiar with html right now. As I get better at this, the look of my page will change. For now, though, we'll cover the basics.

About Me

I am a 40 something year old mother of two. I am in my final year of work toward my bachelor's degree in music education. (If you are interested, click here to see my fall schedule, as it now stands. At least a couple of classes will be added before the semester begins.) I went back to school after a break of almost 20 years. I play the oboe, a wonderful double reed instrument, which is a member of the woodwind family.

My Family

My family is the joy of my life. My wonderful husband, David is the rock of my life. He swept me off my feet 20 years ago, and I still think he is the best thing that ever happened to me. David is a retired research microbiologist. He has done a lot of work in some interesting and critical areas, such as disease transmission through dental handpieces, hazards in the sewage sludge industry (gross!), and transmission of diseases through medical procedures, like endoscopy. Here is a link to David's website, where you can read about his research and other interesting topics. David's website

These are photos of my family. From left to right: my husband, David, my son Jedd (17 years old), my son Joshua (19 years old) with his girlfriend, Laura.

As I said before, I have two children. They are Joshua and Jedd, and they are both great guys. Joshua is 19 years old. He is a sophomore at UGA. He is a physics major at the moment, though he is considering changing his major to biology. Jedd is 17, a freshman at UGA, and he is majoring in philosophy. Both guys are smart, and I know I am prejudiced, but I think they are both very interesting people.
